Northern Lloyd expands in the Middle East
Marine insurance broker Northern Lloyd Group recently announced its expansion with the opening of two new offices in Abu Dhabi and Athens.
Both Greece and the Middle East are important markets for Northern Lloyd and an office presence in both locations allows the company to respond promptly to the specific needs of its clients, according to a press release. Northern Lloyd already looks after its clients comprehensively in both locations by offering placing of risks as well as claims handling. The two new offices will be headed by two experienced brokers: Ayad Saab in Abu Dhabi and Panayiotis Sourmelis in Athens.
“The new openings are the logical consequence of our international growth strategy. Our international presence allows us to look after our clients in the best way possible,” said Stefan Gläbe, managing owner of Northern Lloyd.
“We very much look forward to working closely with our clients and business partners in Greece and the Middle East. Proximity to the client is our top priority. The opening of further offices will live up to this in the coming years.”
The Northern Lloyd Group now spans four locations: Bremen, Limassol, Athens and Abu Dhabi. Having been in the global market for 13 years, the Lloyd’s-licensed company has its origins in the marine insurance department of German firm A. Atermann Assekuranz which was founded in 1837. Now an independent broker since 2008, Northern Lloyd focuses on Hull & Machinery, P&I, War Risk and Loss of Hire insurances as well as other marine specialty insurance products.
