Dhamani reviews digital, coding aspects
Ahmed Ali Al Maamari, vice president for the insurance sector at the Capital Market Authority and chairman of health insurance team emphasised that the health insurance scheme for the employees of the private sector and visitors to Oman (Dhamani) is readying all the requirements to implement all the phases of the project for the targeted categories. He added that the preparations are in advanced stages with regard to legal requirements, digital systems and medical coding aspects of the project.
He was speaking during the team’s meeting that saw the participation of representatives of entities such as the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labour, Public Authority for Social Security, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Omani Insurance Association to discuss the achievements during the past period and to review the execution of the preparatory projects accompanying the implementation of Dhamani.
Al Maamari said the compulsory insurance for the employees of the private sector will contribute to creating great changes on the level of the health and insurance economy with regard to the types of practices and attracting new specialisations and investments in the economy. He added that the expansion of health insurance would direct the health sector toward enhancing the quality of services by attracting quality specialised institutions and competencies further to improve the quality of the insurance services rendered by insurance companies.
The meeting discussed the execution of the medical coding project based on accurate and comprehensive data to ease the billing process in accordance with international standards, as well as the training of the employees dealing with the platform in the public and private sector health institutions and insurance companies.
