???AirAsia must pay compensation???

Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ8501 is required to pay compensation to the victim's next of kin, acting air transportation director-general Djoko Murdjatmodjo said recently.

"The obligation to pay compensation lies with the airline," he said in response to a question on insurance payment by Indonesia AirAsia.

Payment dispute has arisen after Indonesia AirAsia was reported to have flown illegally on the Surabaya-Singapore route on Sundays when it was not granted permission from Jakarta to do so.

Tribunnews had reported that Indonesia AirAsia must pay IDR1.25 billion in insurance and other forms of payment for every passenger on flight QZ8501, which went missing on December 28, 2014 with 155 passengers and seven crew members on board.
