First CSR crowd funding platform launched
Truecause has announced the launch of the insurance industry’s first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) crowd funding platform for charitable giving and volunteering campaigns.
The new platform was launched during the GBN Worldwide conference with a presentation and reception in the Library at Lloyd’s of London. Over 100 international risk management professionals, including Lloyd’s insurers and members of the insurance CSR community, gathered together to hear more about the new Truecause CSR initiative and how collaborative thinking is set to revolutionise CSR in the insurance market.
Truecause extends the reach and maximises the impact of CSR campaigns through a combination of innovative technology and creative social media. The platform provides a focus for emerging markets where insurance companies are typically in the early stages of developing CSR programmes and are currently not supported by the major fundraising platforms.
Truecause is supported by members of the insurance CSR community as well as Crescent Global Group, a Lloyd’s broker and cover holder.
As an easy to use, global solution, Truecause delivers insurance companies the ability to upload and share their good cause, while monitoring the success of their CSR or cause marketing programmes. The funds raised go directly to the beneficiary in real time, so money goes instantly to where it is most needed – a key requirement when supporting catastrophic events.
Jamil Bahou, chairman of Truecause commented: “The Truecause concept is simple. You combine global reach, user friendliness, a digital platform, creativity, and passion, to raise funds for noble or charitable causes. Our vision is to create a global online CSR community, where insurance companies work together to support international industry wide causes, share resources and maximise the impact of their CSR investment.”
