CII, DIFC academy to host webinars

The DIFC Academy will host two webinars for Middle East insurance professionals in partnership with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) during the first quarter of 2021.

The informative webinars have been organised as part of a wider collaboration formed between the two entities and Lloyd’s of London 18 months ago, with attendees able to gain a valuable CPD certificate for 1.5 hours of learning content.

The first entitled, “The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Insurance Sector” will be held on February 22 from 1 pm and is aimed at all insurance and financial planning professionals wishing to understand more about the sector’s response to the challenges brought about by this unprecedented health phenomenon. Specifically, the online session will identify the classes of insurance which have been and are likely to be impacted by COVID-19 losses. It will provide an overview on the potential financial and reputational damage suffered by the insurance market, describe how insurers are reacting to those losses, and discuss how the insurance market may change in the longer term.

The second webinar, “An introduction to Insurance by CII (Chartered Insurance Institute)” will take place on March 8 from 1 pm and is ideal for new entrants to the insurance or reinsurance profession working directly in the market or in a supporting area. The online session will cover the Basic Principles of Insurance; Terminology; Policy structure; Key Forms of Insurance and Reinsurance and its Purpose. A specialist CII trainer will deliver both webinars. Those interested in attending may register through the following links:
