Julius Baer announces senior hires

Wealth management group Julius Baer has appointed Alireza Valizadeh as CEO of Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd. and Shaj Babu as CEO of Julius Baer (Bahrain) BSC (c). Valizadeh brings with him more than 25 years of experience in the wealth management industry. In his role as CEO, he will have the mandate to further strengthen Dubai as the main hub for the Group’s operations in the region. In addition, he continues to be responsible for the growth of the Middle East and Africa business from the Dubai and Manama offices. Alireza joined Julius Baer in Dubai 14 years ago, held many senior roles, and played an instrumental role in the growth of the bank. Prior to joining Julius Baer, he was a part of the management team at Credit Suisse where he managed substantial assets for Ultra High Net-worth Individuals and Institutions. Shaj Babu will be responsible for leading the growth journey of the office in Bahrain, which has been present for over 40 years. He has a wealth of experience from over 10 years in the field of finance and 15 years in banking and wealth management in different approved functions between Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Julius Baer.
