CMA on course to health insurance implementation

The Capital Market Authority is on course to implement the decision of the Council of Ministers in collaboration with the entities concerned with implementation of the compulsory health insurance scheme for the employees of the private sector, expatriates and visitors.

The CMA has milestones set for implementation of the health insurance scheme. CMA sees the best mode of implementation is gradual implementation in phases and moving to the next phase will only be after ensuring the success of implementation of the previous phases. CMA held a meeting with the concerned entities and competent ministries for their opinion on the implementation phases of the health insurance scheme.

As to the insurance for visitors entering Oman from the various entry points the CMA is working with the Royal Oman Police to set out appropriate method for health insurance of visitors to ease obtaining such insurance at the border checkpoints.
